“It was very intuitive. A lot of it came just out of jamming. Purely improvised jamming. We were starting to realize, listening back to the improvisations, that they were a lot more fun and a lot more interesting to listen to when we found an idea, hung onto it and played it out… We had developed our own compositional/improvisational language together. I think that was one of the real special things about the band, it came from very organic origins because it was really just spawned from playing… from listening to each other and having that intuitiveness.”

“Acid Mothers Temple is a completely freak out japanese neo-hippie tribe led by the guitarist Malato Kawabata (partially known for previous works published at the end of the 1970s). The band were formed in 1996 under the name Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Paraiso U.F.O (Underground Freak Out). They started their career playing perpetual psychedelic jams very closed to Amon Duul II and Gong at their most gorgeous spacey rock moments… Each album contains its special dose of “acid” musical fantasies, including lot of fuzzy guitars, “stoned” vocals, droning synthscapes and some futurist Eastern raga sounds.”

They have very unique style that each player produces heavy, loud, confusing psychedelia based on simple riffs with insistence on musical attitude and with support of the others, simultaneously.”

“Somewhere in the late 90’s 4 Russians met in NYC and formed this jam group for the higher spirit, following the road and/or spirits of Amon Düül I, Faust, High Rise, Keiji Haino and Ya Ho Wha 13. And the music indeed has the mad fuzz, bass, noise wall psychedelic extremeness of some Japanese psych (Acid Temple, High Rise, White Heaven, some of Haino’s groups), and some spiritual musical breakthrough with the music focus of YaHoWha 13, some slightly chaotic trippy patterns of Amon Düül I, mixed with an improvisational focus of the more advanced experimental Kraut in general. The guitars are penetrating in its improvising towards the infinite, with fuzz noise that keeps up the trippy effect, while the bass is almost swimming while moving-mountains-wise, with the drum in a freeformed slamming mania.”
