  1. Highly improvisational live set from this mostly instrumental jam band. Taking off with a free-form soundcheck of sorts on opener ‘Lilybaeum’, Eiliff really get going on the extended tracks ‘Girlrls’ and ‘Hallimasch’ delivering over 30 minutes of pulsing, jazzy psych fusion built on sidewinding bass and energetic organ keys. Highlights include the organ/saxophone exchange early on and a Morrison-esque poem recital later, giving these jams even more depth. Almost 50 years after, this Close Encounter still sounds good.

    Standout track: Girlrls
