Spacey effects and atmospheric undercurrents with a strong metal backbone, Red Giant straddles the line between post-rock and psych-metal, if that’s a thing. This is a ‘concept album about the life of a star and what happens after it dies’. It is engaging and muscular, with long driving rhythms and progressive structures to create powerful moments, much like the death of a star. Light on the psych, heavy on the metal but definitely worth a listen.
